Prof. Zhang has over 30 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation medicine. He completed advanced training at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital (the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University), and the Department of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.
He specializes in the rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries of all etiologies, including those caused by spinal trauma, spinal stenosis, post-spinal surgery, aortic dissection, spinal cord ischemia, and myelitis, managing conditions such as tetraplegia, paraplegia, incomplete paralysis, and sensory abnormalities (numbness and pain).
In neurogenic bladder management, he is experienced in the rehabilitation of urinary retention, urinary incontinence, and overactive bladder syndrome. For neurogenic bowel dysfunction, he provides comprehensive rehabilitation for constipation, fecal incontinence, and bowel dysfunction. He also treats motor impairments secondary to pulmonary infections and strokes through targeted rehabilitation programs.
