About the Clinic

The Prostate Center Europe is the largest urological hospital in Europe, located at the base of multidisciplinary St. Antonius-Hospital Gronau GmbH in Germany. Nowadays, the Center takes the 1st place in Europe in amount of carried out prostate cancer surgeries – of more than 8,000 in total. Approximately 1,300 men are operated in the clinic annually. The unique European Robotic Institute, located on the territory of the hospital, is a place for training on the robot da Vinci for urologists from around the world.

Clinic’s focused specialization – the diagnostics and the treatment of prostate diseases – is its main advantage. It is also the only one narrowly focused medical institution in Germany, where the patients are served by the system of “fixed price”.

Distance from the hospital to Dusseldorf is 130 km and to Amsterdam is 180 km. It is comfortable to get to the Center from the airports of Münster (55 km) or Dortmund (103 km).

Personnel

Team of the European Prostate Center consists of experienced urologic surgeons, nurses and male nurses. Each professional has an extensive experience in the treatment of prostate by robotic method of da Vinci. You will be in the hands of a professional team, whose coordinated work will help you to achieve the best results in the treatment.

Patients with prostate cancer are operated by the Department Chief, leading surgeon in Europe – Dr. J.H. Witt. He has successfully conducted more than 4,000 surgeries. Dr. Witt is co-author of Atlas Of Robotic Prostatectomy, a practical guide for surgeons and urologists. At the same time, he teaches robotic surgery to specialists from all over Europe.

Diagnostics and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and benign tumors has been one of the leading doctors in the clinic Dr. Jörg Zinke.

Technological base: diagnostics and treatment of the prostate

The Prostate Center Europe offers a full range of services for the diagnostics of the prostate diseases:

• urological check-up is an initial examination with/without an MRI, which includes an examination, provided by a doctor, the laboratory analysis, transrectal ultrasonography, etc.;
• the prostate biopsy is a key method in the process of prostate cancer diagnostics by means of MRI to take bioptic material;
• additional services: revision of prostate bioptates.

There are 3 methods of treatment of prostate diseases, practised in the Clinic:

• Prostatectomy with the da Vinci Robotic System. It is the unique and the most effective method of treatment of malignant tumors, which minimizes the risks of surgical intervention and reduces the rehabilitation period. Da Vinci Robot is perfect for the treatment of prostate cancer at its early stage. The Center has 3 da Vinci surgical robots, including the latest upgraded modification of Xi.
• TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate), a common treatment method of benign prostate tumors.
• Radiation therapy is usually applied after prostatectomy if recurrence appear. The therapy is carried out by means of high-tech equipment in the partner clinic.

Price policy

Foreign patients are diagnosed and treated in the clinic relying on a principle of fixed price, i.e. the cost for offered services is strictly fixed and does not depend on the amount, volume of ongoing procedures, length of stay in the hospital.

Current prices in euro:

You can save your money on accommodation and nutrition. The cost of services during the period of treatment includes unlimited support of the English-speaking medical coordinator and a single ward. If the patient request and tentatively agree with the Center, he is provided with the 2- or 3-bed ward while he is staying in the clinic. This allows the patient to save up to 140 euro per day. There is a high possibility to have an European as a “neighbor”.

High-level service

The quality of services, provided by the Prostate Center Europe, meets European standards as well as punctuality and structuring of the treatment process, typical for the German mentality.

After you leave a request for the International Patient Support Center Bookimed, our coordinators will process the request within 3 hours (1 working day at the very outside). The time for treatment organization depends on the diagnosis, existing complications, the visa presence/absence. Basically, it takes 2-3 weeks. Bookimed also organizes transfers from the airports of Düsseldorf and Amsterdam at an affordable price.

The patients of Bookimed has a unique offer for accommodation in the three-star hotel of Gronau. Both patients and their attendants stay here. The cost for a single room is 49 Euro/day, double/twin room with breakfast is 79 Euros/day. Patients may stay in a spacious 3 bedroom furnished apartments at the price of 90 euro/day.

Nutrition at the Center is organized by a 3-course meal system with a choice of menu. Attendants can take a meal in the cafe of the hospital at reasonable prices.
