I saw Dr. Phoomisak for 2 root canals. One was due to a failed root canal by another endodontist, and the other was from a newly infected tooth. Dr. Phoomisak did an excellent job doing both root canals. The procedure was virtually painless, (just a couple of very brief moments of mild pain, unlike my first root canal with another Thai endodontist, which was extremely painful). He used a microscope in doing the canal. Since then, 2 dentists have seen x-rays of one of the root canals he did, and both complimented his work. One was a holistic American dentist, who said he did a very good job. Another was an Asian dentist who has had training in Canada, who said that the root in that tooth is curved, and that doing a root canal on such a tooth is very difficult, and that Dr. Phoomisak had done a good job on it. He said that very few endodontists in his country could do a root canal on a tooth like that. One of the root canals failed (the one that had previously had a root canal done by another endodontist and had failed), but it was not Dr. Phoomisak's fault. The tooth had developed a perforation in the root, which was causing the tooth to get infected, and could not be saved. Dr. Phoomisak had me return several times to check on that tooth, hoping that he could repair the perforation, but it was too large to repaired. Dr. Phoomisak didn't even charge me for that root canal, even though he spent a lot of time and care doing it. He clearly is someone who is very interested in his patients and giving them excellent dental care, and not concerned about how much money he gets.
