Д-р Ерканчакір — фахівець з дитячих захворювань органів дихання. Має досвід лікування гострих і хронічних респіраторних захворювань, інфекцій дихальних шляхів і проведення бронхоскопії. Основні напрями роботи: астма, порушення дихання під час сну, муковісцидоз і туберкульоз.

Медичну освіту здобув в Стамбульському університеті. Спеціалізацію проходив у Навчально-дослідній лікарні Гьозтепе та університеті Мармара. Працював у провідних закладах, зокрема в університеті Безміалем Вакф і Навчально-дослідній лікарні легеневих захворювань Сюрейяпаша.

Активний член кількох професійних організацій, зокрема Турецького торакального товариства та Європейського респіраторного товариства. Д-р Ерканчакір отримав понад 20 національних та міжнародних нагород за дослідження й доповіді, особливо у сфері дитячої пульмонології та муковісцидозу.
